The Portland Collection by Pendleton

The iconic Pendleton is a six generation family company headquartered in Portland, Oregon.  English fabric craftsman Thomas Kay came to the Northwest in 1863 as part of the emerging wool textile business.

Pendleton owns TWO of the remaining fabric mills in the United States.  The original mill in Pendleton, Oregon dates back to 1902--yes that's 102 years old!

This special collection takes the best of Pendleton's 148 year heritage and interprets it for a vibrant, contemporary, global audience.
The launch of The Portland Collection pays homage to the classic blanket prints that Pendleton is known for.  The 3 designers (all hailing from Oregon) started their journey by visiting the archives of Pendleton to find their inspiration.  Check out the short film of the collection in the making (link at the bottom of the page.)

Owning pieces of this collection are like having your own piece of American Heritage.  Come on by and take a gander...

Fascinating tidbit:  In 1923, President Warren G. Harding and his wife Florence came west to dedicate part of the Old Oregon Trail.  Chiefs from the Cayuse and Umatilla tribes commissioned Pendleton for a special shawl, which they presented to the First Lady.  The pattern became known as the Harding, and has been in the Pendleton line ever since.
